Blue Mountains, Australia

During my two-week Australia trip, I spent one day in the Blue Mountains. This is an hour drive from Sydney and it is very much worth it even if you can only go by bus. It is very different from any place close to Sydney as it is very small and locally sufficient.

Our first stop was this very small coffee shop and health food store that happened to be right in front of our parking spot. I ordered a hot chocolate that was made from there which I must say, I did not finish. To each their own I guess. However, I very much enjoyed my sandwich by the fire place on this particularly cold Australian day.

Once we were full of food, we made our way to the Blue Mountains National Park. Here we visited the gift shop where bottles of Blue Mountain air were sold for $9.99. The park offered many different activities and we were very excited. We went to the lookout and took some beautiful pictures of the Three Sisters and the Blue Mountains.

The Three Sisters are three big rocky statues in the Blue Mountains that are explained by many local myths and stories. You can hike a path and walk down to the first sister rock if you are not afraid of heights.

Some paying activities includes visiting the Katoomba Scenic World to ride the train put in the place of the historical railway previously used by miners or take a ride in the skyline. This tour allowed for a sight of the very small but very tall Wentworth Falls as you can see below.
